Pisonet is a strain of E. coli, which is responsible for food poisoning in humans, and several other types of illness including throat inflammation and diarrhea. The name Pisonet comes from the Greek word for right eye, "pis" meaning "right" or "eye" in Latin. Infection caused by this particular bacterium is known in medical terms as "staphylococcus infection."
Pisonet is a member of the Clostridium perforatum complex family. This genus contains several species which cause food-poisoning, skin rashes, and fatal respiratory infections, including Yung disease and food poisoning. Please log in to join the discussion.
